FSB claims to have uncovered foreign intelligence services' operation to infiltrate mobile devices of Russian top officials
The Russian FSB claims to have uncovered and documented a large-scale operation by foreign intelligence services to implant and use malicious software on the mobile communication devices of high-ranking Russian officials. This software was used to extract existing data, eavesdrop on conversations, and conduct covert acoustic and video surveillance of the environment near electronic devices, with the aim of obtaining sensitive information, reports the Telegram channel "Ranshe vsekh".
"Using the technical capabilities of major international IT corporations, representatives of foreign intelligence services secretly and unauthorizedly obtained various types of information from the devices of cyberattack targets through mobile communication means," the report states.
A criminal case has been initiated.
