Russian Consul in Romanian Constanța Declared Persona Non Grata

The consulate will be closed.

Romanian President Nicușor Dan declared the Russian consul in the city of Constanța persona non grata; the consulate will be closed, Reuters reports.

The decision was made after a drone crashed into a multi-story building in the Romanian city of Galați, near the border with the Odesa region, during a Russian attack on Ukraine.

The Kremlin, in turn, for the first time stated that Vladimir Putin "is aware of the UAV incident."
