Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office provided details on the case likely involving Mikita Shatsilin
The General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine reported that a large-scale scheme for illegally smuggling men across the state border was uncovered in Bukovyna (Chernivtsi region on the border with Moldova and Romania). It appears to be the same case in which Mikita Shatsilin, the son of Sviatlana Shatsilina, head of the Mission of Belarusian Democratic Forces in Ukraine, was detained .

According to the Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office, ten people participated in the scheme, organizing an entire illegal business. Among those they smuggled abroad were not only conscripts but also active military personnel.
The scheme operated systematically: pre-developed routes, night logistics, rented apartments, and hotels were used. Participants used GPS navigation, radio stations, thermal imagers, and drones. Roles within the group were clearly distributed.
Monthly, the group members illegally smuggled at least 10 people. Since December last year, about 60 men have traveled abroad this way. The total profit of the organizers amounted to more than 700 thousand dollars.
It is reported that among the participants in the scheme were a deputy of the Irpin City Council (this is apparently Mikita Shatsilin) and a police officer from the Chernivtsi region. According to the investigation materials, the deputy was involved in transporting people and used his status to reduce the risk of checks, while the police officer coordinated passage through checkpoints.
After this, people were hidden, formed into small groups, and smuggled into Romania outside official border crossing points.

During the investigation, 27 searches were conducted in the Chernivtsi region and Kyiv. Drones, GPS trackers, thermal imagers, video surveillance cameras, 58 mobile phones, radio stations, computers, documents, equipment, weapons, and large sums of cash in various currencies were confiscated.

All participants were detained and informed of suspicions of illegal human trafficking across the border, as well as obstructing the activities of the armed forces during a special period.
The court has already chosen pre-trial detention measures for all suspects. According to the law, they may face up to 9 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Mikita Shatsilin is a war veteran; he participated in hostilities on the side of Ukraine back in 2014. After the start of the full-scale war, he participated in the defense of Irpin, Borodyanka, and Makariv. He was awarded the Order "For Courage" III degree.
Today his detention became known, but closer to the evening the man was released — he recorded a video walking down the street, confirming his detention which took place on May 26. He added that "he is prohibited from commenting on the case by Ukrainian law."
