Catholic priest in Mogilev region gave away all property to parishioners: It's good to have nothing but two garments
The priest had to move out of the rented apartment because there is no own rectory (a place near the church where the priest lives) in Byalynichy.

Father Juzef Siarpeika lived in a rented apartment because the priest has no own accommodation in this town. The owner of the apartment unexpectedly found buyers for it, so the priest has to move out, writes katolik.life.
While vacating the apartment, he gave away almost everything that was in the premises, even furniture, to his parishioners, and explained why, showing the things he parted with.
«I gave away everything. Except for what is allowed to keep, what is necessary to have, and books. I gave away everything else: from clothes to household appliances. Whoever needed something in the parish, received it: clothes, dishes, glass, a refrigerator, cabinets, beds, chairs, tables, a washing machine, a dishwasher, household chemicals, small appliances — everything serves others», he said.
The priest added: it's good to have nothing but two garments — convenient when moving.
Father Juzef is also a pastor in the neighboring town — Berezino. He has to serve two parishes due to a shortage of priests.
And so he went there now to congratulate the oldest parishioner on her 95th birthday. The priest told her about his experience and received this reply: «It's good that you realized early that you will die; you won't have to suffer in life, dragging everything behind you».
The priest also noted that he thanks God for the «experience of liberation», and said that he does not yet have new accommodation in Byalynichy.
