Iran responded whether it is ready to conclude a war-ending agreement before the US midterm elections
President Pezeshkian says he wants the US to return to the Ceasefire Memorandum.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, speaking in New York, stated that Tehran is ready to conclude a war-ending agreement before the US midterm elections in November, writes NBC News.
«We don't want this to go until the midterm elections… We want the Americans to return to the Memorandum of Understanding [on ending the conflict and opening the Strait of Hormuz] before the midterm elections,» he stated.
Meanwhile, in response to an NBC News inquiry, White House Press Secretary Hannah Kelly highlighted the Iranian regime's killing of Americans abroad and thousands of its own citizens, as well as terrorist acts in the Strait of Hormuz and attacks on neighboring countries in the region.
Pezeshkian's comments came two days after US President Donald Trump's speech at the UN, during which he stated that, in his opinion, the Iranian regime would not conclude an agreement before the autumn elections, as it would be waiting for the results of the White House elections.
The American president also stated then that he was considering whether to conclude an agreement with Iran and allow the country to recover, or to quickly destroy the Islamic Republic so that it could no longer pose a threat to other states.
