Ukraine and Russia exchanged civilians via Belarus

On August 13, another humanitarian exchange of civilians between Ukraine and Russia took place through the territory of Belarus. The exchange happened at the "Novaya Huta" border crossing point on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. Eight people went to Russia, and seven to Ukraine, writes BelTA.

Among those who participated in the exchange were elderly people and people with disabilities. Some of them required medical assistance during transit. For example, one of the pensioners, after suffering a stroke, was transported in an ambulance accompanied by a paramedic.

An 85-year-old woman, heading to her daughter in Ukraine, was able to call her grandson at the border. Another participant in the exchange, a native of Kherson region, said she had greatly awaited the opportunity to return to her relatives and see her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren again.

In addition, on the morning of August 13, an exchange of bodies of fallen servicemen took place at the "Novaya Huta" checkpoint, using the formula 261 to 24. The Russian side handed over a larger number of bodies.
