Four Russian sappers died during demining in Sevastopol

In occupied Sevastopol, five people died as a result of ordnance detonation — four Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) employees and a building security guard. According to the Russian-appointed governor Mikhail Razvozhayev, the incident occurred during a territory inspection after Ukrainian drone attacks.

The operation was carried out by MES specialists. During the work, one of the unexploded ordnances detonated, Russian channels report.

As a result of the detonation, four sappers died: 40-year-old Anton Chudakov, 42-year-old Alexander Panchuk, 29-year-old Artyom Duplin, and 49-year-old Roman Pilipchuk. The object's security guard, Vasily Staroverov, also became a victim of the explosion.

According to local authorities, the deceased sappers were experienced employees who had previously worked in Sevastopol, Donbas, and the Kursk region.
