The ZahSybNeftekhim oil refining complex in Russian Tobolsk, Tyumen Oblast, has suspended operations indefinitely after an attack by Ukrainian drones. This was reported by three sources from the petrochemical industry to Reuters agency.

According to one of the sources, the enterprise is currently not operating, as specialists are assessing the extent of the damage and its consequences. It is not yet known when the complex will be able to resume operations.
On August 11, on the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange, no liquefied gas from Tobolsk was offered for sale. Previously in 2026, approximately 4 thousand tons of a technical mixture of propane and butane were regularly sold from there per day.
ZahSybNeftekhim is a major producer of liquefied hydrocarbon gases. According to industry sources, the enterprise annually produces about 6 million tons of such products. This accounts for approximately 40% of the total production volume in Russia.
About half of the gas produced at the enterprise is used as raw material for petrochemical production at Sibur company's integrated complex in Tobolsk.
On August 10, the AFU struck oil refining and petrochemical facilities in Tobolsk. Following this attack, ZahSybNeftekhim was forced to halt operations.
