"No one wanted to go anymore." The bus started smoking, but the driver wanted to continue
The incident occurred on the Minsk — Saint Petersburg route.

A girl recounted that on September 12 at 9:00 PM, a bus traveling on the Minsk — Saint Petersburg route started smoking on the highway between Lepel and Byahoml. Judging by the video, the smoke was near the wheel.
— People had plane tickets with very little time for a transfer, I have a transfer, but, fortunately, within the country, — the girl writes.
The passenger also said that there was a persistent smell in the bus already during boarding.
— I attributed it all to a fuel tank somewhere beneath me. As a result, after two stops, the bus smoked so much that it was impossible to stay in the cabin due to the smell of smoke. After another stop, the drivers were ready to continue the journey, but no one wanted to go anymore. Why we started moving in a faulty vehicle is a big question.
It was important for the girl to reach her destination, as a transfer to the EU awaited her there.
— After 20 minutes of trying, I managed to catch a passing car with a wonderful family couple who, coincidentally, were also going straight to Polotsk.
Onliner.by contacted "Minsktrans" for a comment:
— During the journey on the Minsk — Saint Petersburg route, a technical malfunction occurred in the bus's pneumatic system. For the safety of passengers and road traffic, the vehicle was stopped. A replacement bus was promptly dispatched to the scene, and passengers were transferred to it. As a result, the delay in travel was no more than 3 hours, and the bus arrived at its final destination with a delay of only 1 hour. After the passengers were transferred, the faulty bus returned to the depot for maintenance and repair.
