Colonel of internal service Aliaksandr Laurinovich, 41, has become the new head of Gomel Colony No. 4, where women serve their sentences, writes Mayday.team.

Previously, Laurinovich served as Deputy Head of the Department for the Organization of the Correctional Process of the Department of Penal Enforcement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Gomel region.
Even earlier, he worked as the chief of staff of the Gomel pre-trial detention center No. 3.
Previously, Colony No. 4 was headed by Stanislau Kavaliou, who was appointed to this position in 2024. According to information from the DissidentBy initiative, Kavaliou exerted psychological pressure on women, ordered the compilation of reports against political prisoners, and made decisions to place some of them in SHIZA (punishment cells) and PKT (cell-type premises).
