Minsk City Executive Committee told how many subsidies are allocated for public transport
About 500 million rubles are allocated annually from the Minsk budget to support public transport. This was announced by the Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Vladimir Kukharev, on the air of the "First Information" TV channel.

According to the official, passengers pay only part of the real cost of travel. The actual cost of a trip in public transport in the capital is approximately twice as high as the amount paid by passengers.
Kukharev also noted that part of Minsk's tax revenues are redistributed among the country's regions. He called this a long-standing practice and stated that residents of other regions should also have access to social benefits.
Approximately half of the capital's budget within the city is directed to the social sphere. These funds are used for healthcare, education, culture, and sports.
According to Kukharev, industry remains the basis of Minsk's economy. At the same time, the capital accounts for almost 32% of Belarus's GDP.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee reported to Alexander Lukashenka on the economic development of the capital, transport infrastructure, construction, and urban planning.
