Man from under Zhlobin, who lived in Russia, sentenced for politics and intimacy with a minor
38-year-old Siarhei Kostka lived in the Moscow region for many years. But recently he was sentenced in Belarus. The Homel Regional Court handed down a verdict against him on a whole range of serious charges, among which are not only political ones.
Siarhei Kostka was born in 1988 in the agro-town of Krasny Bierah, Zhlobin district. In recent years, he lived in Russia. He was an active user of Russian "GosUslugi" (public services), "Avito" and SDEK services, ordering goods to an address in the city of Istra, Moscow region.
In September 2026, the name of 38-year-old Kostka appeared in the updated list of "persons involved in extremist activity". According to law enforcement information, the Homel Regional Court found him guilty under several articles of the Criminal Code. One of them is the political part 1 of article 361-4 (facilitating extremist activity). Usually, people are prosecuted under this article for transferring information and photos to human rights defenders or journalists.
However, the man faced not only political charges. Kostka was also convicted under a package of sexual crimes — these are sexual intercourse with a person who has not reached the age of 16 (part 1 of article 168), production and distribution of pornographic materials involving minors (part 2 of article 343-1), and involving minors in committing a crime (part 3 of article 172).
Kostka is currently serving his sentence. The exact details of how the criminal case for sexual crimes intertwined with political persecution remain unknown. Did they come for Kostka for Hayun or something similar, and found porn on his mobile phone? Or was he arrested for sexual relations, but also found some single message in "extremist" channels?
It is also unknown whether Kostka was extradited from Russia.
The most serious of the crimes imputed to him is involving a minor in committing a crime. Here, Kostka could have received from 5 to 8 years in a penal colony.
