Girl from Kazakhstan surprised why her Threads posts are popular in Belarus. The explanation is on the surface
The publication "Mocnyja Naviny" (Strong News) noticed that a user from Kazakhstan named Yauheniya wrote the following post on Threads: "My surname is Homel. Is that why my threads are flying to Belarus? I'm from Almaty, by the way. Where do you see me from? Maybe I'll even find some namesakes."
The social network's algorithms hit the mark again — surprised residents of Homel came to Yauheniya's comments.
Now they say that the girl "is simply obliged to come to Belarus and take a photo near the stella at the entrance to Homel," and someone even offered free accommodation and city tours.
The Almaty resident hasn't found any Homel namesakes in the comments yet — although one person noted that a similar-sounding surname, Gommel, is found in Germany. And someone knows a guy with the surname London, and he's not British.
