In Gomel, a woman was cleaning in the mezzanine and stumbled upon real weapons
In Gomel, during apartment cleaning, a woman found a revolver and cartridges in the mezzanine in the hallway. The find turned out to be not just an old item, but a real firearm, suitable for firing, reports "Gomelskaya Pravda".

A resident of Gomel contacted the police after, during apartment cleaning, she found a revolver and cartridges in the mezzanine in the hallway. It turned out that the weapon once belonged to her husband — a former officer of the Soviet Army.
At first, it might have seemed that it was an ordinary old item that had been lying unnoticed for decades. However, expertise showed that the find was not a harmless rarity at all. The revolver turned out to be a hand-held rifled firearm — a 5.6-millimeter Nagant-Smirnsky revolver, model of 1926. Moreover, both the revolver itself and the found cartridges were suitable for firing.
Therefore, the police urge residents to be especially careful when sorting through old belongings of relatives. This particularly applies to cases where items were left behind by former military personnel, law enforcement officials, or participants in combat operations.
