Former Formula 1 pilot and businessman Nikita Mazepin is close to buying the major gaming company "Lesta Games," which publishes popular games "World of Tanks" and "World of Warships." According to data from Forbes, the deal is in its final stage — the parties only need to agree on the final price, which, according to experts, could amount to around 356-416 million dollars, writes Office Life.

Until 2022, "Lesta" studio was a subsidiary division of the Belarusian company Wargaming. After the latter's departure from the markets of Belarus and Russia, the studio separated and came under the control of local management. In early June 2025, the activities of the founders of the "Lesta" group of companies in Russia were recognized as extremist, assets were nationalized and transferred to Rosimushchestvo (Federal Agency for State Property Management).

The company retained an office in Belarus.

The father of the potential buyer — billionaire, main shareholder of "Uralkhim" and ex-co-owner of "Uralkali" Dmitry Mazepin — is originally from Minsk, where his relatives live. Alongside this, he has long-standing business ties with Belarus. This summer, Mazepin Sr. visited Minsk and met with Alexander Lukashenka.

For 27-year-old Nikita Mazepin, who after completing his sports career focused on investments in fintech and IT, the purchase of "Lesta" will become his largest profile asset.

Recently, Russian Deputy Finance Minister Alexey Moiseev announced a "very expensive" sale of "Lesta" to an "interested investor."
