Another Knife Attack Occurred in a School in Poland, with Injuries Reported
In Warsaw, a 21-year-old girl attacked three girls with a knife in an adult school complex. As a result of the attack, two minors aged 17 and a 24-year-old woman were injured, Polsat reported .
The incident occurred in front of the secretariat of the educational institution on Minskaya Street in Warsaw's Praga district. Emergency services received a report of the attack around 12:30 PM. According to Commissioner Jacek Wiśniewski, police arrived at the scene within four minutes.
One of the 17-year-old girls was taken to the hospital with lacerations to her forearm. Her condition was not life-threatening. The other two victims did not require hospitalization.
The attacker was apprehended by an employee of the educational institution, who then handed her over to the police. When law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, they were able to confiscate the knife from the girl.
The motives for the attack have not yet been determined. According to the police, there is no confirmation that the attacker and one of the victims knew each other. It is known that the 21-year-old girl is a student at this institution, and the 24-year-old woman came there on the day of the incident to submit documents. Investigators are carrying out necessary actions regarding the suspect and are interviewing the two victims who did not require hospitalization.
The attack occurred amidst a series of other incidents in Polish educational institutions. Following tragic events in schools in Mazovian Voivodeship, Polish police inspected almost 50,000 educational institutions. Across the country, 76 people were detained and over 230 incidents were recorded.
On Thursday, in an elementary school in the village of Leszczydół-Nowiny, Wyszków County, a 15-year-old teenager who previously studied there attacked three people with a knife, including a school employee and the principal. The woman died despite resuscitation attempts.
The day before, nine people were injured during an attack at Vocational School Complex No. 4 in the Polish city of Ostrołęka. On Wednesday, a police operation in the city of Sierpc prevented another attack.
