Alexander Lukashenko met with the acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the National Security and Peace Commission Min Aung Hlaing at the Presidential Palace in Naypyidaw. Negotiations will be held here in narrow and expanded formats, Belta reports.

The Presidential Palace is the official residence and office of the President of Myanmar in the capital. The building was built and opened in 2010. The Presidential Palace includes 100 rooms and is used exclusively for national ceremonies, diplomatic receptions, and government meetings.

Lukashenko was escorted to the meeting place by an honorary equestrian escort of 54 riders. This is the first time in the history of Myanmar's protocol practice, which emphasizes the special status of the visit.
The ceremony of welcoming Alexander Lukashenko and Min Aung Hlaing turned out to be solemn as well. Lukashenko was greeted by a guard of honor, and the orchestra played the anthems of Belarus and Myanmar.

The politicians will discuss promising areas of bilateral cooperation and the implementation of joint projects. The discussion will include the development of cooperation in the field of agriculture and food security, and industry.
