In the autumn, a fire broke out in the kitchen of a restaurant in Minsk, which was extinguished by arriving firefighters. According to the restaurant staff, the fire occurred during food preparation.

After conducting the examination, an employee of the State Committee of Forensic Examinations concluded that the cause was a malfunction of the deep fryer.
When examining fragments of this equipment, experts found that there were no traces of electrical emergency operating modes on the structural elements, but structural changes had been made to the heating element No. 1, namely, a thermocouple designed to maintain a specified operating temperature of the device had been removed.
At the time of the fire, the two-chamber deep fryer was connected to the electrical network, and its heating temperature regulator was in the "on" position - at maximum. Oil was used for cooking.
The conducted research allowed experts to assert that the absence of an important structural element that ensures the safe operation of kitchen equipment led to overheating of the oil, followed by ignition of its vapors, and played a key role in the occurrence of the fire.
