Mexican tried to import valuables worth 40 thousand rubles into Belarus
As reported by the State Customs Committee, customs officers stopped an attempt to illegally import a large batch of jewelry. A Mexican citizen, who was traveling from Lithuania through the "Kamenny Log" checkpoint by a regular bus, was found with about 40 silver items and two gold bars that were subject to mandatory declaration.

The traveler chose the green corridor, thereby declaring that he had no goods to declare. However, during customs control, the valuables were found in his hand luggage. The total value of the found items amounted to approximately 40 thousand Belarusian rubles.

For failing to declare goods on a large scale, the Hrodna Regional Customs initiated administrative proceedings under Part 4 of Article 15.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus. Now the foreigner faces a fine of up to 30% of the value of the undeclared goods.
