Researchers found a location in Belarus where "Oreshnik" is based

American researchers have discovered a probable base for the deployment of Russian hypersonic Oreshnik missiles on the territory of Belarus. According to Reuters, satellite images indicate intensive construction at a former military airfield near Krichaw, in the Mahilyow region, just a few kilometers from the Russian border.

Experts Jeffrey Lewis and Decker Eveleth, after analyzing photos from Planet Labs, noticed characteristic signs of a Russian strategic missile base at the site.

In particular, a new military railway junction with a protective fence appeared on the territory of the airfield, as well as concrete pads, which were later covered with earth for camouflage.

Construction of pads for three missiles began between August 4 and 12.

The researchers stated that they are "90% confident" that the mobile launchers of the missile system are located at the former airbase near Krichaw, approximately 307 kilometers east of Minsk and 478 kilometers southwest of Moscow.

The deployment of missiles in Belarus significantly expands Moscow's capabilities to strike deep into Europe.

Lukashenka recently confirmed that the first "Oreshniks" have already entered combat duty, calling it "a response to the aggressive actions of the West." In turn, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Kyiv possesses the precise coordinates of these missile deployments and has already informed international partners about the new threats emanating from Belarusian territory.
