Correspondence of journalist Dzmitry Kazakevich with former political prisoner Alana Gebremariam was published in the pro-government channel "Fakty na stol" (presumably linked to the KGB of Belarus).

It was then reposted by propagandist Ksenia Lebedeva's channel and the "Shkvarka News" channel. The conversation there is about an article for "Belsat" concerning a conference of former political prisoners in Warsaw, which took place in May 2025.
The account was hacked via a phishing link. The journalist received a message on Telegram from an account named "Security Department", disguised as a message from technical support. The account was marked as registered to a Myanmar phone number.

What the journalist did next is unclear, but the KGB gained access to the account. It is unknown how many correspondences were in the account and which of them were obtained by the special services.
Dzmitry Kazakevich is a journalist from Vitsebsk. He has repeatedly faced repression, and several criminal cases have been initiated against him. Since 2021, he has not lived in Belarus.
