The losses incurred by Vilnius, Kaunas, and Palanga airports this year due to meteorological probes amounted to more than €800 thousand. This was reported by the Lithuanian state-owned company "Lithuanian Airports".
Since the beginning of the year, more than 600 cases of border violations by weather balloons carrying smuggled cigarettes, launched from the territory of Belarus, and approximately 200 incidents with drones have been recorded.
These incidents led to airport closures, affecting more than 320 flights and almost 50 thousand passengers.
After the latest visit of the Americans to Minsk, no airport closures have occurred.
