Employees of the Slutsk District Department of Internal Affairs (police) immediately responded to the scene. Not far from the agrotown Luchniki, they spotted an Opel car matching the description and signaled it to stop. However, the driver ignored the demand and attempted to flee, leading to a pursuit.
When the car slowed down, the kidnapped girl managed to get out. After putting the girl into a service vehicle, law enforcement officers continued the pursuit.
The driver, reportedly, repeatedly ignored demands to stop, so police officers eventually resorted to using their service weapons.
Behind the wheel was a 32-year-old local resident with a history of multiple criminal offenses. He behaved erratically, possibly under the influence of psychoactive substances. The man was detained and placed in a temporary detention center, and his biological samples were sent for forensic examination.
A criminal case has now been initiated against him on charges of kidnapping.
