The Manta was the German answer to American pony cars like the Chevrolet Corvette. The first model in the lineup was introduced in 1970, writes Blizko.by.
Several generations of cars with engines of varying power and displacement were released; the car became a popular tuning object and also performed well in rally competitions.
In Germany, the Opel Manta became a cultural phenomenon, and the 'Manta' driver — roughly the same humorous stereotype as the 'new Russian' for us. According to German folklore, the average Opel Manta driver is a young, muscular guy (Mantafahrer) who isn't particularly bright, behaves aggressively both on and off the road, and dates a stereotypical blonde hairdresser.
The second generation of the car, an Opel Manta B, was put up for auction. The lot description states that the golden-colored coupe was released in 1983. There is no information on the engine's displacement or power. In those years, Manta cars were equipped with many different engines, with which the coupe could accelerate up to 190-200 km/h.
The car is located in Dokshytsy, Vitebsk region, and is being sold as the property of debtor Volha Khareuskaya-Dziamidava.
According to online databases, an individual entrepreneur (IE) with the same details existed from 2001 to 2018 (type of activity not specified).
However, the photos clearly show that the car was involved in a serious, and perhaps even terrible, accident: the entire front of the car is completely flattened.
