In Minsk, a car mechanic used a client's car for several months, becoming a defendant in a criminal case as a result, Minsk police report .

A man reported a car theft to the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of Minsk. Several months ago, he handed over his car to a mechanic for repairs and paid for the services in advance, but then strange things started to happen.

One day, the car owner received a speeding ticket and a photo of his car, with an unknown man behind the wheel.

An investigation revealed that the 28-year-old car mechanic took money for repairs, and then drove the car for his own errands for several months. At the same time, he sent weekly reports to the owner about allegedly completed work, promising to return the car soon.

A criminal case has been initiated for vehicle theft.
