The US Aviation Administration warns about flights over Latin America due to "military actions"
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) urged airlines to exercise caution when flying over Central America and certain areas of South America. As a reason, risks of possible military activity and disruptions to the GPS satellite navigation system were cited, reports Bild.
A representative of the agency reported that the FAA published information for pilots and airlines about specific flight zones over Mexico, Central America, Panama, Bogota (Colombia), Guayaquil (Ecuador), and Mazatlan (Mexico), as well as over the airspace of the eastern Pacific Ocean.
The warnings have already come into effect and will be valid for 60 days. According to the documents, there are "potential risks for aircraft at any altitude — both during flight and during takeoff and landing."
