In the Svetlogorsk district, a man refilled a lighter from a gas canister. It ended badly
On January 27, around 11:30 AM, the Svetlogorsk District Department for Emergency Situations received a report about a gas explosion in an apartment building in the village of Myadkov. All residents of the building were immediately evacuated, and rescuers entered the apartment where the incident occurred.

Inside the premises, rescuers found the owner, born in 1961, with burns. Paramedics provided first aid on the spot and transported the victim to the Svetlogorsk Central District Hospital. The burned area covered about 15%.

At the same time, employees of the Department for Emergency Situations, together with the gas service, inspected the gas equipment in the apartment — it was in working order.
It was later discovered that the cause of the explosion was a violation of gas canister usage rules. The man was trying to refill a lighter in the kitchen while food was being cooked on the stove. The gas leak from the canister led to the explosion. No fire occurred in the apartment, but the explosion blew out the entrance door and damaged an internal partition.

After the emergency services completed their work, specialists were invited to the scene to assess the damage to the building. It was determined that the load-bearing structures were not damaged and the house remained suitable for further operation. After this, residents were allowed to return to their apartments.
