«Mountains are clearly redundant.» Belarusians assessed Braslaŭ in the spy series «Pony»
Recently, we reported about the series «Pony», in which «Mother of Dragons» Emilia Clarke spoke with a pleasant Belarusian accent. In general, this film contains many greetings for Belarusians. For example, during the viewing of the 8th episode, residents of our country were able to appreciate the landscapes of Braslaŭ as depicted by the series creators, writes Blizko.by.

The verdict of the viewers: quite good. «Not Braslaŭ, but there is definitely something Braslaŭ-esque about it.»

For example, by looking closely, one can «see» Zamkavaya Hill and the Ark of Salvation near the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the presented locations.
However, as viewers note, the historical part of Braslaŭ in reality is much smaller than presented in the series. And the mountains in the background — are clearly redundant.
Observant Belarusians also found an inconspicuous African-American CIA agent trying to naturally «blend in» with the local landscape to be unconvincing. Especially considering that the series takes place in the 1970s.

Viewers also counted the absence of the «Vitalich» supermarket in the shots as a drawback. Of course, it couldn't have been there at that time. But, according to locals, «Vitalich» is an iconic part of the urban environment that would certainly add accuracy to the cinematic «Braslaŭ».

In fact, the «Belarusian city» from «Pony» was filmed in Hungary, approximately 20 km from Budapest.
