ETA is not a visa — it is a preliminary entry permit for citizens of visa-free countries. According to information from the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Belarus, the system is currently operating in pilot mode, and obtaining an ETA is recommendatory. However, in the future, it will become a mandatory condition for entry for citizens of visa-free countries.
An application for an ETA must be submitted through the QazETA digital platform no later than 72 hours before entering Kazakhstan. The permit is valid for 180 days, does not replace a visa for countries where it is required, and the final decision on entry is made by the border service.
Citizens of Belarus can enter Kazakhstan without a visa for up to 90 days within each half-year period. Belavia airline operates flights from Minsk to Astana, and flights to Almaty have also been resumed — initially by SCAT airline, and later by Belavia.
Electronic authorization is not required for holders of diplomatic and service passports, members of official delegations, and representatives of the accredited diplomatic corps.
