J.D. Vance arrived at the Milan Olympics with a fleet of 14 planes and a motorcade of 100 vehicles
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance is already on his second day in Milan, where the Winter Olympic Games kick off today.

Vance arrived in Italy with a delegation for which 14 planes and about 100 vehicles were used. One plane carried food, two carried armored vehicles, and the rest transported staff, security, and members of the official escort, Bild reports.
The headquarters for Vance and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who also arrived in Milan, is located at the Sheraton hotel. The hotel was completely cordoned off, and a black security structure was placed nearby, into which the Vice President's motorcade entered. Such security measures are applied to individuals with the highest threat level.
Against this backdrop, Vance's visit to the U.S. women's national hockey team's match against the Czech Republic seemed unexpected. He attended the game with his family and Rubio, without enhanced security checks or clearing of the stands.
Vance's delegation also included former CIA director Mike Pompeo and several past Olympic champions. This evening, Vance will participate in the opening ceremony of the Olympics at the San Siro stadium.
