On February 18, negotiations on ending the war concluded in Geneva, involving Ukraine, the United States of America, and Russia. As of today, it cannot be said that the outcome of the meetings is sufficient. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening video address.

According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the meeting of military officials was serious and substantive. At the same time, the political group discussed sensitive issues.
"Questions about possible compromises and the necessary meeting of leaders have not yet been sufficiently worked out. We are counting on the next meeting, and it would be right [to hold it] still in February. It is important that Europeans were present — France, Britain, Germany, Italy, Switzerland as the host side," noted the President of Ukraine.
He emphasized that Europe should be a participant in the negotiations, and Ukraine always promotes this position.
Separately, Zelenskyy noted that he tasked the delegation to discuss the humanitarian track:
"Exchanges of prisoners of war are needed, as is the release of civilians. We are looking for information on every person and always work to bring our people back — to bring Ukrainians home. Every exchange matters."
