Ukraine's Ambassador reported on US demand not to strike oil terminal in Novorossiysk
Ukraine's Ambassador to the USA, Olha Stefanishyna, stated that she received a demarche from the United States Department of State after the AFU attacks on the oil terminal in Novorossiysk at the end of 2025.

"We heard that Ukrainian attacks on Novorossiysk affected part of American investments made through Kazakhstan. And we heard from the State Department that we should refrain from, well, you know, from attacking American interests," said Stefanishyna at a briefing.
According to her, the State Department's note also stated that the US currently does not have economic interests in Ukraine like it does in Kazakhstan. At the same time, Washington did not suggest refraining from attacks on other Russian energy infrastructure, the Ukrainian ambassador emphasized.
She added that Kyiv "took note of this."
The marine terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium near Novorossiysk came under attack by Ukrainian drones last November. The single point mooring (SPM-2) device was damaged, but there was no oil spill into the Black Sea. Loading was suspended, and tankers were moved out of the CPC's water area. After the attack, oil exports were urgently rerouted to alternative routes.
