Poland introduces flight restrictions along the borders of Belarus and Ukraine
The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency announced the introduction of a special flight restriction zone in the eastern part of the country, bordering Belarus and Ukraine. This decision was made at the request of the military command to ensure state security.

The new rules will come into effect on March 10, 2026, and will last for three months. They signify the transfer of the border airspace in eastern Poland to a state of heightened readiness to streamline the operations of air defense/air force in case of threats.
For regular airline passengers, nothing will change, as the restrictions only apply to altitudes up to three kilometers. However, for private pilots, drone owners, and small aviation, the rules are significantly tightened.
At night, flights in this zone will be completely prohibited for everyone except military personnel and emergency services. During the day, taking to the air will only be possible with constant communication with air traffic controllers and the presence of special equipment that allows military radars to see the object.
Any unauthorized use of even a civilian drone in this zone will now be considered a serious violation of the law.
Polish authorities emphasize that such measures are necessary for air space control in complex conditions, where activity near the borders requires special attention from air defense forces.
