This would eliminate the oil shortage on the world market, which may arise as a result of the situation around Iran.

The United States of America is considering lifting sanctions on oil from the aggressor country, the Russian Federation. This was stated on March 6 on Fox Business by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, a fragment of whose interview was published by Clash Report on the social network X.
Thus, according to Bessent, the US wants to eliminate the oil deficit that emerged after the start of the military operation against Iran. He also noted that the US had eased sanctions against India and allowed the country's oil refineries to buy Russian oil for 30 days, "which is already at sea."
"We can also lift sanctions on other Russian oil. Hundreds of millions of barrels of sanctioned oil are on the water, and, in essence, by lifting sanctions, the Treasury Department can create additional supply, and we are considering such a possibility," he noted.
Bessent did not specify which particular sanctions were being referred to.
