According to Volfovich, Alexander Lukashenka instructed to conduct a full-scale combat readiness check of the army, which should conclude with exercises. The main task for the army this year is defined as maintaining the achieved level of readiness, high training, and cohesion of units.
Volfovich noted that the check is particularly relevant for the Air Force and Air Defense troops, because, he said, even in peacetime they perform combat tasks to protect the airspace and borders of Belarus. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the Air Force and Air Defense are capable of countering modern threats.
During the check, the ability to quickly increase the composition of duty forces, as well as the ability to counter potential aerial attack means, will be assessed. Tasks of aviation support for troops will be specifically practiced.
Most military units, including rapid response forces, will move to designated areas where they will begin conditional combat duty. Army aviation will also practice redeployment to various airfields, including reserve and operational ones.
In addition, during the check, enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups will operate conditionally. It will be verified how the troops organize security, guard duty, and general support.
