U.S. President Donald Trump commented on the airstrike on a girls' school in the Iranian city of Minab. During a conversation with journalists aboard the presidential plane on March 8, he rejected accusations against American forces.
“In my opinion, based on what I’ve seen, Iran did this. We believe Iran did this because, as you know, they are very inaccurate with their ammunition. They have no precision at all,” — he said.
Trump was also supported by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. He stated that the Pentagon is conducting an investigation, but emphasized: the only side that deliberately or through errors strikes civilians is the Iranian regime.
According to the Iranian side, at least 150 people were victims of the bombing that occurred on February 28, most of whom were children. The exact circumstances of this event remain unclear. Iranian authorities block access of independent journalists to the school. This information vacuum allows both sides of the conflict to promote their versions. Even the exact number of victims is constantly cited differently by the Iranian side.
