«Usually there were already 60 people in the morning». A large queue for birch sap gathers in Minsk
The birch sap sales season has started in Minsk. This year, the price of sap directly from the forestries is 55 kopecks per liter (and in stores it will be many times more expensive). Queues are already forming, but they are not as long as in previous years, writes Onliner.by.
Yury said that sap began to be sold at the forestry on Bagration Street, 70. A liter costs 55 kopecks.
— I came with two 10-liter canisters — I paid 11 rubles. They said that sales have only been going on for the second day, the season has just begun, he says.
According to the Minsker, people come with large containers to stock up on sap: they take five-liter bottles, canisters, and even barrels.
Yury arrived in the afternoon, around 14:00, and expected to see a long queue, but there weren't many people.
— There were 10-20 people at most. I waited for about 20 minutes, quickly got the sap, paid, and went home, he said.
He notes that in previous years the situation looked different: in the first days of sales, 50-60 people would gather in the morning — many came by car or public transport. For now, despite the good weather, the excitement remains moderate.
The Minsk forestry confirmed that birch sap can already be bought from them — from 10:00 to 20:00, without a lunch break.

In Minsk, birch sap is sold at several points:
- Bagration Street, 70 — daily from 10:00 to 19:00, seven days a week
- Lahoisk Trakt, 52 (site «Forest House») — daily from 10:00 to 18:00
- Timiryazeva Street, 118 — from 09:00 to 18:00, seven days a week
- SC «Titan», Dzerzhinsky Ave, 104A — from 11:00 to 19:00
