Well-known human rights defender, one of the leaders of the "Viasna" Center, Uladzimir Labkovich, received an offer for cooperation in exchange for the opportunity to visit relatives in Belarus. According to Labkovich, the corresponding message came to him on the evening of March 9 in direct messages on Instagram.
“I blocked and forwarded (information about the message) to colleagues at 'Viasna',” — Uladzimir Labkovich told Radio Svaboda. “It came to my Instagram account. I blocked this sender and that was it. I took a screenshot. This was made public today. I had neither the desire nor the mood to engage in any correspondence. I believe it is absolutely wrong.”

According to Labkovich, before blocking, he checked who the account from which the message came might belong to. There was no activity on it; the account looks like a newly created one.

As of the morning of April 10, the "Viktor Grazovski" account still had no followers or posts. Instagram marks it as newly created.
“I am not the first from 'Viasna' to receive something similar,” — continues Uladzimir Labkovich. “Yesterday, my colleague Anastasiya Vasilchuk received something. There was even a more personalized letter, a creative approach; the Melnikova case was mentioned. In my case, it's really a spam mailing, without an addressed appeal to me as Uladzimir Labkovich. It just says that they know everything — that I have close relatives in Belarus whom I want to visit.”
As a lawyer and human rights defender, Uladzimir Labkovich advises immediately publishing such messages received privately from unknown senders.
“That story will end immediately with this,” — says the human rights defender. “We, public activists who continue our activities abroad, encounter similar things almost every day. You should react to them immediately, make them public, and under no circumstances engage in any correspondence.”
Uladzimir Labkovich is a human rights defender, one of the leaders of the "Viasna" Center. Arrested in July 2021, sentenced to 7 years in prison. Released and forcibly deported to Lithuania as a result of negotiations between American diplomats and Alyaksandr Lukashenka in December 2025.
