“Whether people like Israel or not, it has proven to be a great ally of the United States of America. They are brave, courageous, loyal, and smart, and, unlike others who showed their true colors in a moment of conflict and stress, Israel fights hard and knows how to win!” the American leader’s publication states.
This statement by Donald Trump came against the backdrop of growing disagreements between the U.S. and Israel regarding military strategy in the region. Earlier, Trump harshly criticized the actions of the Israeli government, stating the necessity of stopping the bombing of Lebanon and even threatening unilateral steps by the U.S. to stabilize the situation in that country.
In response, Israeli authorities made it clear that they would make military decisions independently and do not consider themselves limited by Washington's political position.
