Three people died in a fire in Lida

The Investigative Committee is clarifying the circumstances of a fire in Lida that occurred yesterday evening and resulted in the death of three people.

The report of a fire in the apartment was received around 23:00 on April 18.

During the firefighting, rescuers found the bodies of three men: the 66-year-old owner and two of his guests – aged 39 and 56. In addition, the apartment located on the floor above was damaged.

According to neighbors, the day before, the owner had invited acquaintances over, and they were drinking alcohol together.

The preliminary cause of the fire is careless handling of fire while smoking.
