Italian claims his pizza is the best in the village of Kryvaya Byaroza. Officials doubt it

The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of Belarus drew attention to the work of the "Papacha Pizza" pizzeria in the village of Kryvaya Byaroza, Smalyavichy district.

The establishment has been operating since 2025 and belongs to an Italian chef and his wife. Their activity is registered as self-employment, not entrepreneurship, so state control in such a case is limited. In addition, sanitary legislation does not define separate requirements for individuals in this type of activity.

However, the Ministry deemed the pizzeria's advertising incorrect, where it claimed they make "the best pizza in town" and that they have "the best Italian chef". Such statements are considered unlawful because they are not documented and can mislead consumers. As a result, the owners were ordered to stop disseminating such advertising.

Overall, it is noted that even if the activity is conducted by an individual and is not subject to strict regulation, the performer himself is still responsible for the quality of products and services. The state, meanwhile, continues to control compliance with laws and the protection of consumer rights.
