Hackers from Belarus breached the network of Polish medical laboratories
The Polish network of medical laboratories Laboratoria Medyczne Optimed, with 20 years of experience, suffered an attack by hackers from Belarus on May 3. As a result, clients' personal data and medical information could have fallen into the hands of criminals, Belsat writes .

"We are informing about a personal data breach, which may pose a high risk to the rights and freedoms of the individuals whose data we process," Optimed laboratory wrote on its website.
According to the laboratory, the cyberattack was carried out by a group of cybercriminals from Belarus.
"Preliminary analysis showed that an organized group of cybercriminals from Belarus gained access to the system – it cannot be ruled out that unauthorized persons could have accessed the data stored there," the laboratory writes.
Cybercriminals could have accessed very important personal information – PESEL number, first name and surname, address, medical data (including test results and health status).
After detecting the incident, the affected systems were isolated and additional security measures were implemented. Those who used the laboratory's services are advised to "immediately block their PESEL number" and be very careful about emails and calls attempting to obtain additional information from them.
