In total, during the first four months of the year, the import of beer and beer drinks into Russia amounted to 135 million liters. Of these, 81 million liters came through Belarus. Compared to the same period last year, supplies increased by 167%.
Such growth is due to the difference in customs duties. For "unfriendly countries," Russia increased duties on imported beer tenfold from January 2025 — from 0.1 euro to 1 euro per liter. Later, the rate increased to 1.5 euro per liter.
However, for EAEU countries, which include Belarus, significantly lower duties apply — from 0.018 to 0.04 euro per liter. Therefore, imported beer from third countries is now massively entering Russia via Belarus. Direct supplies from Germany and the Czech Republic have practically ceased.
The top 5 countries through which imported beer enters Russia also include China, UAE, Kazakhstan, and Armenia.
