For the title of best coach, Nicolas Alvarado competed with Emiliano Del Duca, who leads the Italian national team, and Alan Cavalcanti — coach of the Portuguese women's national team.
In 2025, under Alvarado's leadership, the Belarusian national team reached the final of the World Championship, which took place in the Seychelles. In the decisive match, the Belarusians played against Brazil, losing 3:4 and winning silver. In addition, the team took bronze in the Euro League.
Nicolas Alvarado has been working with the Belarusian national team since 2017. Before starting his coaching career, he himself played beach soccer: he played for the Spanish national team, and in 2013, he became a world vice-champion with them.
Incidentally, these very days, the Belarusian national team, under the guidance of Nicolas Alvarado, kicked off the new Euro League season on the Spanish beaches of El Puerto de Santa María. In the first round of the preliminary stage in Group A, the Belarusians decisively defeated the Turks 10:2, and in the second — the Czech national team with a score of 8:3. On May 22, they will play a match against the Portuguese. The two best teams will advance to the next round.
Simultaneously, competitions are also taking place there in Quartet B, featuring the national teams of Poland, Switzerland, Lithuania, and Spain. In early August, qualifying tournaments will be held in Chișinău for Groups C (Italy, France, Moldova, Romania) and D (Ukraine, Estonia, Germany, Denmark). After the completion of the competitions in the Moldovan capital, eight participants for the Superfinal will be determined, which will take place from September 8—13 in Viareggio, Italy.
