We told you: "Don't think this is small change"! Data revealed on how much income tax Belarusians in Lithuania transferred to various public structures

It so happened — we didn't want it, but it happened — that Belarusians today have become a "network nation": scattered across the world, preserving their Belarusian identity and tradition mostly online, because "everything is forbidden" within the country. And this will continue until political changes occur in Minsk.

It is an honor for us, the highest assessment of our work, that Belarusians in Lithuania transferred the most to "Nasha Niva" among all Belarusian media — 19,023 euros. This is 24.4% more than a year ago.

Among public organizations, the Ivan Lutskievich Belarusian Museum collected as much as "Nasha Niva" — 19,320 euros (the most among Belarusian initiatives in Lithuania).

But the results of the collection in Lithuania (in Poland, this data takes longer to process and will be known by autumn) also show how much money Belarusians have "lying around." It's a matter of a couple of clicks when filing tax declarations in Poland and Lithuania — a couple of clicks, and you've transferred a percentage of your income to someone whose work is important to you.

This money can go to the Belarusian cause, otherwise, the Lithuanian or Polish state will use it for their own needs. Don't forget to make these clicks next year as well.

Transfer 1.2 or 1.5% of your income tax to the Belarusian cause. Otherwise, the state will use that money itself. And ask your colleagues to do the same

Belarusians in the countries of the Free World cannot remain in the stupor of "just don't move, just don't stand out, just don't draw attention to yourself," which is a natural way of self-preservation when living under a dictatorship.

To remain a strong community even during a period of forced networking, to preserve media, science, churches, schools, summer camps, festivals, political representation, we must use every available tool — including this percentage of tax. It takes a couple of seconds for each person — and the community receives substantial money.

Overall, the most popular initiative in Lithuania is the Mėlyna ir geltona ("Blue and Yellow") fund for aid to Ukraine; people donated the most to it — and Belarusians, we are sure, did too.
