Blogger Maksometer moved from Latvia to Belarus, bought a house without a toilet and complains that nobody needs him here
"I am a citizen of Latvia, I moved to Belarus, essentially to a new place, nobody was waiting for me here. I bought a house without water, without a toilet. And I really hoped you would appreciate it. As a result, your financial support for me as a blogger has dropped almost to zero."

Maksometer is a Russian-speaking blogger, a supporter of the "Male Movement" (MM, a community with patriarchal and misogynistic views). On his YouTube channel, he publishes videos about "correct" behavior in relationships with women.
The blogger was born in Kazakhstan, lived in Latvia from the age of three, holds Latvian citizenship, and his father is Belarusian. In 2023, Maksometer moved to Belarus, where he received a residence permit through a simplified procedure as an ethnic Belarusian. After moving, he became the subject of state media stories, in which he spoke about the difficulties of life in Latvia and claimed that the Russian-speaking population is discriminated against in that country.
Earlier, the blogger said that he bought a house in Belarus, which he is gradually improving, and lives on his own savings.
Recently, Maksometer published a new video — he is dissatisfied that subscribers donate very little to him.
According to Maksometer, when he lived in Latvia, he had a large audience, but was forced to leave allegedly due to pressure from "people in civilian clothes" who offered to use the channel's popularity to criticize the authorities of Belarus and Russia.
He expected that after moving, his decision would be appreciated by viewers, but the opposite happened — financial support almost disappeared.
"Before I left for Belarus, many of you wrote: 'Maksometer, bro, come to us in Russia, in Belarus, yes, we will help you, we'll do this, we'll do that.' But in reality, it's all nonsense. No one will help you, no one in anything... maybe with some advice, yes, maybe..." — the blogger complains.
"And if some of you are offended by me, saying, 'Maksometer, why aren't you making videos...' Guys, don't you understand or what? Doesn't it get through to you or what? Well, that is, f****** hell."
I am a citizen of Latvia, I moved from Latvia to Belarus, essentially to a new place, nobody was waiting for me here. Do you understand? I bought a house without water, without a toilet. Well, thank God, I fixed it — I installed water, and a toilet, and so on.
(...) I really hoped you would appreciate it. That is, you would appreciate that I moved from Latvia to Belarus, that I am on your side. Do you understand?
As a result, after my move to Belarus, your financial support for me as a blogger has dropped almost to zero. And then you say: 'Maksometer, give us more'.
According to the blogger, his streams are watched by 500-700 people, and he "receives" a maximum of 5 to 10 dollars. At the same time, some viewers reproach him for teaching men not to help others.
Maksometer explains the lack of financial support as the reason why his channel is no longer as active as it was a few years ago. He also admits that he has "become a bit disillusioned with the male audience in general."
"The main crowd, practically the entire crowd, are in principle selfish people who will do absolutely nothing for you, will not help with anything. They won't even transfer a ruble, do you understand?
But at the same time, they will still insult you, sit in chats somewhere and talk about how bad you are, that you didn't give them something. A man owes nothing to anyone. I also owe you nothing. I did this out of kindness. And even now I am filming this video, I could have not filmed it. Out of kindness.
But since this is the attitude, since you think it should all be for free, well then I don't know, go to all sorts of bloggers, to groups, there, I don't know. Do what you want," Maksometer expresses his resentment.
The electronic "Belarusian Encyclopedia," created as a space for "reliable knowledge about Belarus," was quietly liquidated along with its editorial team. A heap of articles was handed over to Gigin
