"I put everything in a black package and left it at the agreed place." A Minsk resident twice personally delivered money to fraudsters

It all started with a call in a messenger.

A stranger introduced himself as a post office employee and asked for an SMS code, allegedly to receive a letter. The woman agreed, reports "Minsk Police".

The second call came from an "employee of the Ministry of Information and Communications" — she stated that transfers to criminal accounts were being made in the Minsk resident's name, and threatened her with a criminal case. And to "resolve the issue," she promised to connect her with a "representative of the National Bank".

That person on the phone ordered her to write a statement to the KGB, after which an "employee" of the said organization joined the conversation. He reported about a supposedly upcoming tax audit and demanded to send photos of the banknotes the Minsk resident had at her place of residence.

After some time, the fake law enforcement officer sent the coordinates of the place where the cash needed to be delivered. Overcome with anxiety and a desire to avoid problems, the woman collected all her savings and twice drove along the specified route. In total, she handed over about 62,000 rubles to the fraudsters.

Then the woman realized she had fallen victim to fraud and reported it to the police.
