Former Belarusian national hockey team goalkeeper Alexander Gavrilyonok confirmed to Betting.team that his son, hockey referee Alexei Gavrilyonok, has been detained on suspicion of murdering 43-year-old Tatiana Martishchenko.
"I don't know any more than you do yet; I'm not in Minsk, reading the news online. Yes, Alexei has been detained, no charges have been filed yet, an investigation is underway. I hope for some kind of miracle, maybe a mistake or something else... how can one feel in such a situation? You understand yourself - very bad," said Alexander Gavrilyonok.
The woman's murder became known on September 11 – she had been missing since September 8. The report of her disappearance was filed with the police by Martishchenko's daughter. Within 24 hours, the suspect was identified and detained, and a criminal case was opened regarding the murder.
According to the investigation, the suspect confessed that he was in a close relationship with the victim and knew about her pregnancy with his child – despite officially being in another relationship, which often caused conflicts between him and the victim. It is alleged that during another argument, he stabbed the woman several times, placed the body in a bag, drove it out of the city, and buried it in a forest in the Minsk region.
