Viktar Marcinovich's new book "Depth" has been released by the Wrocław publishing house KEW, bellit.lnfo reports.
In this post-apocalyptic novel, the author explores the problem of Belarusians' division, the difference in values, analyzes the ethics of relationships between people inside and outside Belarus, and also attempts to identify historical patterns that would prevent irreparable mistakes.
"What will happen to us if we suddenly find ourselves on different sides — of the country, of history, of our own lives? One country splits into 'before' and 'after'. Into those who stayed and those who disappeared, taking with them language, memory, civilization. An entire world falls apart into pieces, and each begins to live by its own laws. But the story's heroes remain bound by a common past, by choices that cannot be undone, and by questions for which there are no easy answers. Can we become whole again? And does anyone even want to?"

He debuted in 2009 in Russian with the novel "Paranoia", followed by "Cold Paradise", "Language", "Sphagnum", "Night", and others. Viktar Marcinovich is not only an author of fiction but also a playwright and art critic. In early 2026, his book "Art of Mercy" was published in English by Oxford University Press Routgledge: a non-fiction work about art through the prism of private, deeply personal experience.
