Belarusian Hid 5 Thousand Euros in a Pack of Wipes and Crossed the Border Like That
A Belarusian man, entering from Lithuania, attempted to hide 5 thousand euros from customs control. The 44-year-old man was driving a FIAT car and crossing the border through the "Benyakoni" checkpoint. For this, he chose the green corridor, intended for those who do not have goods or money to declare, reports the State Customs Committee.

During an oral interview, the man told the customs officer that he had 5.5 thousand euros and 200 Belarusian rubles with him. However, this information somehow aroused the inspector's suspicions.
During the check, a pack of wet wipes was found in his fanny pack. Inside it were hidden another 5 thousand euros, which the man had not declared.
The money was confiscated. The Grodno Regional Customs initiated administrative proceedings against the man.
According to Belarusian legislation, only amounts not exceeding 10 thousand dollars in equivalent can be imported into Belarus at one time without declaration.
